GLE Growth Capital offers an extensive range of equity finance services
to enable small and medium sized enterprises to grow and prosper. The
GLE Growth Capital team have extensive experience in growing and
supporting businesses to maximise their potential. We operate a
number of services to build the capacity of companies to successfully
develop their business and access finance.
Anthony Clarke
Anthony Clarke qualified as a Chartered Secretary in 1977 and a Chartered
Accountant in 1980 whilst with Deloitte Haskins & Sells (now PWC). Thereafter,
he worked on a full time basis as a Finance Director and Chief Executive of
a number of SME companies and since 1995 he has been a Business Angel
Investor/Non Executive Director of many start up/early stage businesses.
Anthony has been Managing Director of GLE Growth Capital since 2002
incorporating London Business Angels and its sister angel co investment
Fund London Seed Capital. He is also Managing Director of the UK’s first
Enterprise Capital Fund being the £30m Seraphim Capital Fund. He is Chairman
of British Business Angel Association (BBAA) and President of European
Business Angels Network (EBAN). Anthony also holds a position on the
Board of Catalyst (Council for Advancement of Science and Industry for London).
Jenny Tooth
Business Development Director, GLE Growth Capital
Jenny Tooth has 16 years experience of supporting small business growth and
innovation in both the UK and Europe, working with a wide range of
organisations in both the private, public and not for profit sectors.
Jenny’s work has been especially focused on early stage finance and she
has developed and operated a number of services on investment readiness
and advising companies on access to funding. She is also Chair of the
Emerald Proof of Concept Fund covering a number of Universities in London.
Jenny has a first degree in modern languages and an MSc in Economics
from London School of Economics and Political Science.
Rob Desborough
Rob Desborough graduated from the University of Glasgow with a
BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Science followed by a postgraduate
diploma in Information Technology Systems and Business. Having
founded his own digital media technology company in 2000 he
went on to work for a strategic marketing company specialising
in pre IPO, venture capital backed, silicon valley technology
companies looking to move into the European market. During his
time in silicon valley he was awarded employee of the year.
Prior to joining London Seed Capital in 2006 he was the market
analyst for the University of Ulster's technology transfer
and new ventures vehicle 'UUTech'. Rob is also a member of
the Chartered Institute of Marketing. Rob joined GLE in February 2006
as part of the London Seed Capital fund management team and is
the London Business Angels gatekeeper.
